No-Show Policy
Cross Timbers Action Shooting Association (CTASA) match no-show policy.
In order to reduce the number of competitors that register but do not attend a match without withdrawing or providing notice to the Match Director, CTASA will implement the following policy:
First No-Show - Verbal/written warning from the Match Director or Vice President
Second No-Show - Additional $10 fee (paid in cash) required to shoot the next CTASA match attended by the competitor. The amount of the fee may be reevaluated at the discretion of the Vice President and must be approved by the Board of Directors.
Third No-Show - The competitor will not be allowed to register and squad for any CTASA match for 60 days. Additional strikes within a 12-month cycle will result in an additional 60 day suspension from all CTASA matches.
Accumulation of penalties: Penalties will reset on a running 12-month cycle. Regardless of when the first no-show occurred, penalties will only reset 12 months after the date of the initial infraction.
Extenuating circumstances: Competitors with valid extenuating circumstances including but not limited to: family emergencies, vehicle trouble, late notice of approval to squad for a waitlisted competitor, etc. will not incur penalties if communicated with the Match Director (via call, text, or word from another competitor) in a timely manner. The Vice President will have the discretion to determine whether a competitor has valid extenuating circumstances and communicated with the Match Director in a timely manner.
Time frame to withdraw: In order to provide competitors with a clear guideline of when they must withdraw from a match if needed, the acceptable time frame to withdraw from a match without incurring a no-show penalty will be 8 PM the night before for all outdoor matches, and 12 PM the day of for all indoor matches. A competitor needing to withdraw after that time frame must provide notice to the Match Director in accordance with the Extenuating Circumstances section above. Match Directors in conjunction with the Vice President will have the discretion to adjust the time frame to withdraw as deemed appropriate, and all changes will be communicated to competitors at least one week before the change is in effect.
Vice President: In the event of a vacancy in the role of Vice President, all of the above responsibilities will be shared by the Match Director along with one other member of the Board of Directors to be designated by the President.
